Shaun Fitzpatrick

I have been passionate about helping people both with their housing and personal circumstances after my own family experience in the 1950/60s. This led me into my first job in the Housing Department at Bristol City Council in the 1970s. I worked for several other local Councils as well as three Housing Associations until retirement. My experience includes working with young people, vulnerable adults including those with disabilities, the homeless and those with addiction and ex-offenders. In terms of relevant Governance experience to support Self Help I have been the Chief Executive of a small Housing Association where I was also the Company Secretary, this gives me an insight into what a small staff group experience in trying to work with clients and manage properties. In short there are probably no tasks I have not undertaken at some point and had to report on internally or to Regulators. Having said that I am retired, but willing to learn.
